Reconfigurable Illuminated Shelving for DITA Eyewear
Unibox partnered with RSK Consultancy to produce a reconfigurable, illuminated retail display for the new DITA London store.
High-end brand DITA glasses are handcrafted in Japan using luxury materials, ranging from titanium to 18 karat gold. All DITA eyewear reflects a timeless, elegant essence, whilst having the ability to evolve and excel with the ever-changing and progressing modern fashion trends.
Since being founded in 1995, DITA has expanded its network of boutiques, opening stores in Tokyo and Sydney, and more recently, London. RSK Consultancy engaged the Unibox team to work on the DITA Knightsbridge store, on the iconic Brompton Road, home to many luxury brands.
The 155sqm retail space covers the ground floor and basement of the late 19th century building. The interior design by the DITA design team has a clean and modern aesthetic, with a palette of warm hues and materials influenced by Japanese craftsmanship. Unibox produced the sleek and stylish wall-mounted illuminated shelving using Konnekt S50.
Built to be a plug-and-play solution, Konnekt S50 slides into the slotted uprights within shelves and holds itself securely in place without the need for tools or specialist installers. Thanks to its push-fit design, Konnekt S50 guides itself into position before using magnets to lock firmly in place. Konnekt S50 makes it easy to remove, reposition and reuse power tracks and accessories to provide a future-proofed solution that enables retailers to update the appearance and layout of stores whenever necessary.
As well as flexibility, the client brief was for the illuminated shelving to work alongside daylight from the large, curved floor to ceiling windows at the store-front and create interest to passing shoppers.
The new London DITA store stocks the brand’s full range of sunglasses and optical frames, and offers a matching level of service and eyewear styling expertise.
