Illuminated Flooring for The Ivy Reception
Unibox produces illuminated flooring for the Reception of The Ivy in Manchester.
Located in Spinningfields, in the heart of Manchester, the restaurant is located within a new development, The Pavilion, which is situated in the centre of the city yet surrounded by greenery. The Ivy Group asked Unibox to develop the back-lit flooring installation in The Ivy Spinningfields Reception area.
Visible through large glass doors, the striking flooring had to create curb appeal and enhance the overall aesthetic of the restaurant. The priority for The Ivy Group was consistency in the floor lighting, so Unibox used LED light panels to deliver homogenous illumination from beneath the caramel onyx tiles.
Using light guide plates (LGPs) made from sheets of optical-grade acrylic, the carefully calculated matrix of dots is designed to capture and redirect the light evenly across the onyx tiles.
The Ivy Spinningfields is open all day, seven days a week, so to ensure a minimal impact to service, the Unibox team fitted and installed the entire flooring at speed, overnight.
Light Panels are engineered to operate with a range of powering methods to be effective in different environments. Unibox installed an independent lighting control system for The Ivy Reception to allow the clients complete flexibility.
We made the decision to upgrade the previous illuminated flooring solution to a superior product and we are delighted with the Light Panels from Unibox. The Unibox team had excellent attention to detail and ensured that all the panels precisely matched the stone layout. The Unibox team worked tirelessly to install the entire flooring overnight, and this quick turnaround meant that there was no impact to the service and therefore no profits lost!
